It’s official! The latest N810 WiMAX which was much spoken about on many blogs earlier last month has now been confirmed at the CTIA in Las Vegas! It currently remains unpriced, but we do know for a fact now that it will be running the latest updated OS: OS2008, which features enhanced e-mail client, support for Chinese character rendering in the browser and RSS feeds as well as “Seamless Software Update functionality” to boot. The best is, once OS2008 is available, current N810 / N800 users will get to upgrade to the latest OS for free!

Nokia N96 smartphone is based on the Symbian S60 3rd Edition operation system, with Feature Pack 2, this also has a DVB-H digital TV receiver and innovative kickstand for watching video on the handset’s beautiful 2.8″ QVGA display.
There are various connection options including quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and dual-band WCDMA (900/2100MHz). It also has WiFi support for HSDPA for high speed data connections. It has 16GB of internal flash memory and a memory card slot with support for cards up to 16GB mean you’ll never run out of space for photos, music, and games.
One of the another enchanting feature about Nokia N96 is its built-in GPS that works with the new Nokia Maps 2.0, which come preloaded on the N96.
Here is a few photos from the latest mobile-review’s review

The N96 isn’t going to take up much more room in your pocket than the N95 — it’s marginally bigger and slightly heavier. You get a very slightly larger display on the N96, 2.8 inches versus 2.6″ on the N95, but it’s still a QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) 16 million colour-capable LCD TFT.

The N96’s “video centre” allows access to Internet videos and can play back a wide variety of standard file formats, including Flash. Shooting videos is still at VGA (640×480) 30fps, just as the N95, and the camera is still a five megapixel with Carl-Zeiss lens and built-in flash . The N96 now gives access to Live TV, where DVB-H broadcasts are available.

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) looks set to gain EMI’s repertoire to add to the Universal catalogue that will be part of its upcoming Comes With Music pre-bundled music initiative. EMI Finland MD Wemppa Koivumaki told a Helsinki press conference (via Reuters): ”We want to be part of it. I believe strongly that, when it launches we will be there, with a full offering.” Either that’s just local camaraderie with the Finnish handset maker or the label is set to do something innovative…
EMI showed those credentials last year, when, ahead of its takeover, it launched a DRM-free repertoire first with iTunes. Universal one-upped when it debuted its unlimited-access strategy with Nokia and, later, Omnifone, giving consumers unlimited free mobile tunes in return for an upfront payment from the handset maker, and the label remains Comes With Music’s only partner. But, just as EMI’s DRM move and Universal’s “celestial jukebox” play are not exclusive to either iTunes, Nokia or Omnifone, what’s really interesting here is EMI is signifying its emergence in to the jukebox-in-the-sky segment in a way that is unlikely to be limited to mobile. That could mean not just unlimited Robbie Williams on your cellphone - but also on your desktop.

Eight is the new five. In terms of megapixels, that is. As you are well aware, Samsung holds the record for the world’s thinnest cellphones, be it in the clamshell, slider, or candy bar form factor category. How do they do it? Why, by packing the world’s thinnest cellphone parts in their phones, of course. The latest announcement from Samsung brings yet another record-breaking (or is it record setting?) item, an 8.5mm CMOS digital camera module that they will use for their next-generation mobile phones. This will upgrade their current generation 5-megapixel phones to 8-megapixel ones, and as if that wasn’t enough, the camera module also features anti-shake, 1-cm macro mode, face-tracking technology and a smile shutter feature. Expect cellphones to be released with this camera module during the second half of 2008.

Disruptive Media, a publisher of gamer pictures and themes for Xbox Live, has announced a contest soliciting user art to be purchased with points as downloadable themes on Xbox Live.

The Nokia-sponsored contest, which runs March 17th-April 28th 2008, encourages digital artists to submit their designs via a contest template at the official site. Users can also elect to be affiliated with an Xbox 360 community partner such as Evil Avatar, Platform Nation or Xbox Addict.
After passing an internal review process, individual winners will be determined by community vote, with the top theme officially published to Xbox Live Marketplace. The winner will also receive various home entertainment prizes and a library of Xbox 360 games.
Disruptive Media marketing director Clay Branson commented, "Since the launch of the Xbox 360, users have constantly demanded the ability to create and distribute their own unique themes, and this has never been possible…until now. This contest allows digital art creators a unique opportunity to bring their designs to the largest social network in the living room, with more than 10+ million Xbox Live members around the globe and 2.6 million instant messages, text and voice messages sent daily on Xbox Live.”

Nseries devices like Nokia N95-8GB and Nokia N96 are mobile devices loaded with many powerful features but there is a catch behind all those features. These devices lack the battery power to remain up and runnning without being charged frequently.
This is where Proporta comes to the rescue. Proporta has introduced the USB mobile charger which is an excellent device for all mobile users who like to travel frequently. This device stores an impressive 3400 mAh of power which allows you to charge your Nseries/Eseries device any where and any time when you need it.
This is how it works, you simply charge this powerful device and then take it with you when you are travelling or are on the move. When your Nseries/Eseries device runs out of battery, you simply connect the USB port on your mobile device to the Proporta USB Mobile charger and charge the device without any inconvenience. For detailed installation instructions, please click here.
This is one of my favorite devices that I highly recommend. For more details about this superb device, visit Proporta’s website.

The BBC has launched its first mobile initiative for its growing iPlayer, by launching the service for the iPhone/iPod Touch. The player will only work over wi-fi currently, so if you’re thinking of doing it over Edge - think again.
The BBC team behind the development said they chose the iPhone because it was “optimized” for high quality video playback, but that they would be making the service available to many more mobile platforms very soon.
The BBC has also reached a deal with The Cloud wi-fi firm to provide all BBC online services for free at its 7,500 hotspots according to BBC News.
